way back

I always forget about the wayback machine. It's a website that caches (saves) websites every week or month or so, and you can go back in time and see what the web looked like on a certain date. It's not perfect, but it does have a bunch of versions of an old website of mine from wayback in the day.

It was kind of a fascinating trip to go back and read some of my writing from 4 or 5 years ago. In a way I was a better writer then, but more of a cheeseball. Here's a quote:
cambridge is a strange mix of elderly widows, young families wielding food stamps, affected theatre folk, artists, commune dwellers, and wealthy baby boomers on escape from the money that defines them. but those are just the breathing inhabitants. the real cambridge is a sparse collection of vintage federal homes and covered bridges, hemmed in by cornfields and grassy hills, roadside wildflowers and the foothills of the green mountains.
who was that person anyway?
