california is gay and other funny things

Maple was just observed riding around on her scooter (thanks Midge!) and having the following conversation with herself:
"We are in New England. Not California. California is gay. Not gay gay, stupid gay."

While we were out walking today, Maple says:
"Daddy? I was just thinking about going to Portugal."

Also yesterday while I was changing her diaper (an activity she loathes), she told me I was a dick. A few minutes later she said, "Mama, you're fired."

So I guess this is the age of saying funny things.
