Maple has taken to the new place and loves her new room - maybe not as much as I love it, but she seems to like sleeping in her bed and playing with her toys in her own space. She has a 15-foot arched wood ceiling and about 10'x6' of windows on the south side of the room. Despite the amazing architectural details, the most exciting things about the new house (for the kindergarten set) are the balcony and the water-dispensing refrigerator.

We've got a bunch of projects in the hopper: some sewing for me (new couch pillows to brighten up the place, and some new cloth napkins) and some manly projects for Sean. And we're having fun decorating and redecorating the place in our minds, while we wait for the day when we can actually do it.
Sean started a new job right after we moved, and I think it suits him. He no longer gets up at three in the morning, and he gets to be "master of everything and nothing" in his new role as non-manager-manager.
I'm really enjoying the smoke-free living here (no more downstairs chimney!) and the amazing light that fills this space every day. It's finally warming up around here and Phoenix is shedding her fur coat. (She also got something new when we moved in.) And a few times a week, Maple and I take baths in our super deep bathtub.

Even though I resisted settling down here, I think it's working out pretty well.
