Maple uses language to express her thoughts, like everyone else, but because she doesn't know all the "rules" of language, she says some really funny and cool shit.

Friday night, we were walking home from Wellesley after jogging over there. It was getting dark and Maple pointed up and said, "Go to bed sky!" Sean asked, "When it gets dark, that means the sky is sleeping?" Maple said, "Yeah, and in the morning when the sun is shining, the sky is awake!"

A little while ago, Maple was peeing and she said, "It sounds like a cat is angry!" Sean just told me that she calls the rice cooker a "ricer." And she often refers to the kitchen stove as "the heater," as in "put the tofu on the heater."

As of this moment she has peed in the potty three times. I think full-on potty-trainedness is forthcoming. She's getting so big!
